Goodwill Plaza GRAND OPENING July 17
Pull up your bootstraps and saddle because things are changing for the GREATER GOOD. On Saturday July 17th at 10 a.m. during the last weekend of...
Goodwill and the University of Alberta have partnered once again to support students and their mission to give back to the community while they move out of their residences for the summer.
The U of A Eco move out provides students with extra unwanted items on hand, a chance to reduce, reuse and recycle when their school year comes to an end by donating to Goodwill. This amazing partnership not only supports sustainability initiatives but directly helps make a difference in the lives of Albertans.
From the dorms to donations bins, a whopping 3,891 lbs of old student goods were collected throughout the event this year. From books, to toaster ovens to that old bean bag chair this event garnered goods of all shapes and sizes. Set over the months of April and May, students in their move out rush were able to stop by various donation bins set across campus to easily rehome their unwanted items. A convenient and impactful way to lessen the stress of move out and divert waste from landfills.
Goodwill sends out a huge thank you to the University of Alberta and all students who were able to take part in the event. By donating, you are directly impacting the lives of Albertans and making a difference. Happy summer!
