At Goodwill Industries of Alberta, our mission has always been clear: create positive change through the power of work and sustainability. This past year, we're thrilled to announce that our dedication has been recognized with five prestigious awards, highlighting our commitment to environmental leadership, waste reduction, and fostering an exceptional corporate culture. These accolades are a testament to the unwavering support of our team, donors, and shoppers who help us make a meaningful impact across Alberta and beyond.
We're honored to be named one of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures by Waterstone Human Capital. This recognition celebrates organizations that foster a culture of performance, innovation, and employee engagement. At Goodwill, we've cultivated a workplace that not only supports our mission but also inspires our team to drive sustainable impact. This achievement reflects the dedication of our employees who bring our values to life every day.
Our Calgary Impact Centre has earned the YYC Benchmark Award from the City of Calgary, recognizing it as a top-performing commercial building in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through energy-efficient practices and sustainable operations, the Impact Centre exemplifies our commitment to minimizing environmental impact while maximizing community benefit. This award underscores our ongoing efforts to create eco-friendly spaces that align perfectly with our sustainability mission.
The City of Calgary has also honored us with the Environmental Achievement Award for our innovative Goodwill@Work program. This initiative not only diverts materials from landfills but also creates valuable employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to the workforce. Through strategic partnerships and sustainability-driven projects, Goodwill@Work continues to make a significant impact on both the environment and the lives of those we serve.
Our Repair for Good program received the prestigious Waste Management Award at the Emerald Awards. This initiative focuses on upcycling and repurposing donated furniture, reducing waste while providing valuable training and employment opportunities for Albertans with disabilities. By breathing new life into gently used items, Repair for Good promotes a circular economy and reinforces our commitment to environmental stewardship.
We're proud to receive the Environmental Leadership Award from the Retail Council of Canada for our Goodwill Impact Centres. These centres are at the forefront of reducing waste, recycling textiles, and supporting sustainability through innovative processing and diversion efforts. By keeping millions of pounds of materials out of landfills each year, our Impact Centres demonstrate how retail operations can be a powerful catalyst for positive environmental change.
These awards are more than just recognition for Goodwill Industries of Alberta—they're a celebration of our community's shared commitment to sustainability, social impact, and economic growth. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated team members, generous donors, conscientious shoppers, and supportive community partners who make these achievements possible. Your support empowers us to continue our mission of creating employment opportunities while fostering a greener, more sustainable future.
As we look to the future, we remain committed to innovation, sustainability, and making a lasting difference in the lives of Albertans. Thank you for being an integral part of our journey. Together, we're building a better world—one donation, one purchase, and one opportunity at a time.
