Goodwill Industries of Alberta is proud to support Norwood Elementary School in Edmonton in the Samsung Passion for E-cycling Hope for Children School Challenge. On Monday, October 22, 2012 Goodwill donated 300 lbs of used electronics to Norwood Elementary School to assist them in meeting their goal.
The donations were collected at all Edmonton sites from October 15 - 21.  We are a proud community partner, and we are proud to support Norwood School in attaining their goal.
Norwood Elementary School is participating in the first Passion for E-Recycling School Challenge! They hope to bring awareness to the community about the importance of keeping electronics out of landfills. Between October 15-19, they were collecting unwanted electronic waste, they could win a grant of $17 000 towards computers for they school if they have the heaviest bin per number of students in all of Edmonton Public Schools.
The challenge sponsored by Samsung and GEEP, coincides with national Waste Reduction Week, the Samsung Passion for E-Recycling Challenge (October 12-21) aims to safely and responsibly divert thousands of kilograms of electronic waste in Edmonton from landfill. The more e-waste Edmonton residents collect, the greater the rewards: up to $50,000 in Samsung Hope for Children technology grants could be donated to Edmonton children. For more on the challenge go to http://bit.ly/TCIMC3.
