For Immediate Release - Edmonton, June 16, 2015 – Goodwill Industries of Alberta and North Central Co-op is proud to announce a new partnership that will enhance the lives of Albertans with disabilities and mental health challenges.
North Central Co-op is actively supporting Goodwill’s initiatives by selling their Cleaning Cloths, a signature product made by their Commercial Services division.
“We are extremely excited to partner with a great local organization”, said Ed Berney, General Manager of North Central Co-op. “As one of our pillars at Co-op, we strongly believe in being community-minded and locally invested with our products that we offer to our guests.”
The Cleaning Cloths are made from donations of cotton and terry cloth products that cannot be sold in Goodwill’s stores.
“North Central Co-op is very community-minded and this is a perfect fit for a partnership,” said Dale Monaghan, President & CEO of Goodwill. “Our Commercial Services division is a centre-based, inclusive place of employment located in Edmonton and by selling our Cleaning Cloths, North Central Co-op is supporting employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges.
North Central Co-op has begun selling the Goodwill’s Cleaning Cloths at all their locations (Food Stores, Gas/ Convenience Stores, & Home Centre) in Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove and the Town of Stony Plain. Since it’s been on the shelf for a short three weeks, we’ve seen a great response from the community.
Media is invited to attend the official reveal of this partnership at the North Central Co-Op location in Millwoods (2231-66 Street) at 10:30 AM.
