No matter how big or small, you can participate in turning donations into GOOD for your community.

To start, if you have pre-loved items that you no longer use, you can donate them to one of our donation centers. This item will have over a 90% chance of finding a new home, or being repurposed, and therefore diverted from our local landfills. For more information on where to donate, please click here.

You can also participate in the GOOD as a volunteer! We love connecting with our community and sharing what we do. If you have time to spare, and want to lend a helping hand-up, consider volunteering for GOOD. To learn more about our volunteer programs, please click here.

There are two main types of donation drives. They can be classified as 'big bin events' and 'spring cleaning events'.

Big bin events

are typically held by communities, who hire a waste service to drop off large bins for residents to throw away large household waste. At these events, Goodwill sets up a station to receive any items that are too good for the landfill, but are no longer useful to the resident. Having Goodwill at big bin events helps divert thousands of pounds of goods from the landfill.

Spring cleaning events

 are typically held by apartment complexes or business'. At these events, Goodwill drops off bins at the beginning of the event and collects the bins by the end of the event (or sooner if they fill up fast!). This is a great way to complete a spring cleaning, because you know that if the items are re-sold, 89% of that revenue will go back towards supporting Albertans with disabilities find and gain meaningful employment.
